Changing my mind & doing what I actually want

I used to be really scared of telling people that I was changing my career (again).

I used to work as a flight attendant in my 20s because I did not have a clue what I wanted. Then when I finally decided I found myself working in marketing full time. I ended up studying filmmaking and video production.

For a few years I was a photographer, I used to go to film festivals, marketing conferences and work with some of the biggest national and international companies in Panama. Then I did an MBA in the hopes to return to Panama and continue what I was supposed to do according to those traditional career journeys.

But I was not happy just doing “what I was supposed to do”. While traveling I started to change my mind, I started to dream of a different life without the influence of others opinions and others limiting beliefs, I started to realize my calling was shifting towards something else.

And at the start I was not sure what that meant. Slowly I started working alongside people that guided me, I still worked at marketing when I first moved to the UK in London but found a way to incorporate my new calling in that workspace, I choose (even though it was fucking scary) to start to step away from the path that no longer fully resonated with me by only working part time with selected clients for a while.

And eventually, even though I was afraid, even though that fear sometimes does not completely leaves, I look back with gratitude and I look forwards with excitement.

Working in the wellbeing industry, collaborating with more companies and multi passionate people, writing and facilitating workshops, living a life that is not perfect but brings me a deep sense of fulfillment.

And most importantly I finally feel like I’m helping others in a meaningful way.

This is a challenge many of my clients face. Feeling like there’s something else that could bring them joy or the sense of fulfilment I described before but because of some “shoulds” and “shouldnts” they don’t dare to even think of alternatives. But their bodies won’t lie to them.

There are signs of the crave and the need of a different path. Like Mother Nature is trying to scream at us right now to do something to help her, before it’s too late.

Our intuition is not a liar. She whispers at us and either are distracted by the deafening effects of fear or forgot get voice.

Even when this is the case, I truly believe that we all posses this unstoppable force inside of us to allow us face our fears and thrive.

Sometimes all we need is to spend enough time asking the right questions to start tapping into the answers that already live inside of us.

  • Are you scared of change?

  • Have you ever thought of changing careers?

  • And if you could do something that scared you today, what would that be?

These are good questions to ask yourself and to journal about :) make sure you give yourself enough time to explore the answers.

And if you are looking for someone to help you, to explore with you, your next steps as a professional, gain more clarity around your current carrer / lifestyle and gently start facing your fears, I can help you.

But only if you are ready. Only if you want to change, to be radically honest and you give yourself time to self inquiry.

I won’t tell you what to do though, but I promise to listen and to ask powerful questions to help you tap with the answers that are already inside of you.

Oh and everything I talk with my clients is confidential and my sessions are a safe space.
