Don't complicate your life

Every day my mom shares with me memes, inspirational phrases on Whatsapp and yesterday she shared a text that really made me think .. life shouldn't be complicated!

ree

After reading it I felt like I really really wanted to share it with more people. Please bear in mind it's been translated from its Spanish original version just in case you read something that "sounds" a little weird. Anyway, here you go!

"Problem 01.

When NASA started launching astronauts into space, they discovered that the pens would not work without gravity (or zero gravity), as the ink would not go down to the surface it was on.

want to write.

Solution A) Solving this problem took 6 years and $ 12 million. They developed a pen that worked: under zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on virtually any surface including glass and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300grC

Solution B) And what did the Russians do? The Russians used a pencil!

Problem 02.

One of the most memorable case studies of Japanese management was the case of the empty soap box, which occurred at one of the largest soap production companies in Japan. The company received the complaint

from a consumer who bought a box of soap and it was empty.

Authorities immediately isolated the problem from the assembly line, which was transporting all the packed soap boxes, to the delivery department. For some reason, a soap box passed empty down the assembly line. Senior officials asked their

engineers who will find a good and quick solution to the problem.

Solution A) Immediately, the engineers launched into their work to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors operated by two people and thus monitor all the soap boxes that passed through the line to ensure that they were not empty. Certainly, they worked hard and fast.

Solution B) When a common employee in a small company had the same problem, he did not get into complications from X-rays, robots, computer equipment, or complicated things; instead he raised

Another solution: He bought a powerful industrial fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He turned on the fan, and as each box went through the fan, the empty ones simply flew off the production line.

Problem 03.

A hotel magnate traveled to a Hindu city for the second time a year away from his first trip, when he arrived at the counter of a hotel lower in stars than those of his chain, the employee smiled and greeted him saying:

Welcome again sir, how nice to see you back at our hotel; greatly surprised since despite being such an important person, he liked anonymity and hardly the employee would have such a good memory to know that he was there a year earlier, he wanted to impose the same system in his hotel chain since that simple gesture made him feel very good. Upon his return he immediately put his employees to work on this matter to find a solution to their request.

Solution A) The solution was to find the best software with

face recognition, database, special cameras, response time in micro seconds, employee training, etc. etc.

With an approximate cost of 2.5 million dollars.

Solution B) The magnate preferred to travel again and bribe the employee of that hotel to reveal the technology they applied.

The employee did not accept any bribe, but humbly told the magnate how they did it, he said: "Look sir, we have an arrangement with the taxi drivers who brought you here, they ask you if you have already stayed at the hotel to which you are bringing, and if it is

In the affirmative, then when he leaves his luggage here at the counter, he makes a sign to us, and so he earns a dollar. "

Moral of the story: Don't complicate yourself!

In other words, more effort must be put into finding the simplest (and most effective) solutions that we are facing. Let's learn to focus on SOLUTIONS and not on more PROBLEMS.
