A whisper between what we can't see and what we can feel.

There are things you cannot understand with the mind but that the body recognises instantly.
Reiki is one of them.
If you have arrived here asking yourself What is Reiki? How does it work or if it really can help you, you are in the right place. In this blog I would like to explain it clearly but also sincerely how my path and reiki have weaved together has showed me that Reiki is not something we necesarily can "understand" (although it can allow us to understand many things) but something we can feel.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing practice that works with the body’s life force energy to support balance, relaxation, and overall wellbeing.
The word Reiki can be understood in two ways:
As a universal energy an energy of consciousness, timeless and ever-present, often referred to as the source or life force energy
As a healing system developed by Mikao Usui in Japan
At its core, Reiki is a technique where the practitioner channels this energy through their hands into the body of another person, supporting the body’s natural ability to regulate and restore itself.
How does Reiki Work?
During a Reiki session, you lie down comfortably while the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above your body.
There is no physical manipulation.Nothing you need to do “right.”
As the body begins to relax deeply:
the nervous system starts to regulate
tension begins to release
the mind softens
the body remembers how to return to balance
It’s a subtle process, yet deeply restorative.

Benefits of Reiki
We all experience Reiki in a unique way but many mention these benefits:
🌿 Deep relaxation
Reiki helps shift the body out of constant alertness and into true rest.
🌿 Reduced stress and anxiety
By calming the nervous system, it eases mental and emotional overwhelm.
🌿 Emotional wellbeing
It can support emotional release, clarity, and a greater sense of inner balance.
🌿 Reconnection with yourself
Beyond physical or emotional benefits, Reiki is an invitation to come back to yourself.
What do you feel in a Reiki Session?
Here is where words start to fall short... Here is where I speak to you from my personal experience and weave the comments of my clients throughout the years...
Some people feel localised warmth, colds, tickling or a sensation of energy moving.
Other simply feel a profound peace.
In my experience I´ve felt as if the world is spinning around me, deeply enjoyable energy flowing in my body but also I´ve had visions or vivid visualizations. For example the vision of having a daughter when I was under 2 months pregnant. At times I´ve felt the experience as a "trance state" as if I am standing in the doorway beweeen the present moment and infinite.
Also it is important to say that many do not "feel" much during a session but afterwards they can notice meaningful changes, more calm, better sleep, feeling lightness navigating their relationships.
Is Reiki Supported by Science?
Although Reiki exists within a subtle energetic field, some studies suggest it may support:
relaxation
reduced anxiety
emotional wellbeing
Research is still evolving, but for many, the direct experience speaks for itself.

So… Is Reiki Worth Trying?
If you are looking to:
reduce stress
reconnect with yourself
release emotional tension
or simply rest deeply
Reiki can be a powerful and supportive practice.
You don’t need to believe in anything specific.Just come with openness… or even simple curiosity.
