The Art of Changing Your Mind: When Goals Evolve

There was a time when I painted. Not for anyone, not for a gallery, just for myself. I’d start with a grand vision—a surreal goddess framed by a galaxy, the perspective of looking at the womb from within translated on the canvas by intuitive textures, eyes or faces as landscapes that knew something I didn’t. And sometimes, somewhere in the middle of this creative and cathartic process, I’d realised: something wasn't right, this wasn’t the painting I wanted as a finished result.
Similarly, in life, I've had this moments too, when I am in so deep in a situation and then I realise I have changed my mind. I used to resist these shifts, gripping onto my original idea as if it were the only truth. But art, much like life, doesn’t work that way.
The Big Shapes Matter More Than the Details
Goals are like paintings. We start with an idea, a feeling, a destination. But as we move, as we grow, we see things differently. The details—the job title, the city, the exact how of it all—might shift. And that’s okay. What matters is the essence, the big shapes, the core of what you’re reaching for.
Maybe you once dreamed of a corporate career, but now your heart leans towards something softer, more creative. Maybe love looked one way when you were younger, but now it feels different, more real. Maybe the book you set out to write turned into something unexpected, yet somehow, exactly right.

Changing Your Mind Is Not Failure—It’s Wisdom
Listen to the Feeling – If a goal starts feeling heavy, forced, or misaligned, pause. Is it resistance or redirection?
Stay Open to New Possibilities – Sometimes, what we thought was the destination was just a stepping stone.
Honor the Evolution – You’re allowed to outgrow dreams. Growth is not betrayal; it’s transformation.
Gratitude: The Anchor in Change

When everything feels uncertain, gratitude can keep you focused on what matters the most: the present moment. It reminds us that even if the details shift, there is beauty in the process, in the brushstrokes of becoming.
That’s why I created this gratitude journal—a space to reflect, to realign, and to appreciate the journey, even when the map changes.

After finishing reading this blog, I want to invite you to think,
When changing your mind turned into something even better than your original idea?
