Seeing It Before It Happens: My Journey with Visualisation

ree

Once upon a time—because all good stories begin that way—I sat in a tiny space, my first place away from my mother’s home, staring at a checklist. It wasn’t grand. Just small things: a blender, a printer, a microwave to cook after long shifts and uni classes. But as I scribbled those items down, something strange happened. I could already see them, sitting there, waiting for me. And soon enough, piece by piece, they arrived.

The Quiet Power of Visualising

I didn’t know it then, but I was practicing a kind of magic—one that didn’t require spells, just clarity and intention. When I envisioned something, not just as a wish but as an inevitability, the world began to conspire in my favour. Throughout my life, before and after the vision board I made after moving out of my mom's flat, I kept creating space once or twice a year to visualise the life I wanted to live. This practice, I believe, was key for me to get the job I wanted at the time, international adventures and even advancing in my education opportunities.

Years later, after some swirlings and whirlings in my life's path, I tried tapping into the quiet power of visualising—only this time, it wasn’t household items, trips, academic journey, but love. A healthy, beautiful, reciprocal love. I pictured the way it would feel, the laughter, the companionship, the unequivocal trust knowing that I was safe being myself around this person. And wouldn’t you know it? We both asked the same to the universe and eventually found each other.

From Dreams to Reality: A Life in the Making

Then after meeting this human I was so lucky to join in life, I moved to the UK, and that time of the year approach, when I give myself that space to envision the future. So I did the same as before, dedicated some time in the diary to listen the whispers of my heart and focus on the harvest I wanted to aim at in the horizon.

I saw myself creating a life here, building a home, a family, writing books. Even when the steps felt uncertain, the vision remained steady, pulling me forward. It was as if, by seeing it first, I was creating a path through the unknown.

How to Use Visualisation to Shape Your Own Life

  1. Be Specific – The clearer your vision, the easier it becomes to align your actions with it. See the details—down to the colour of the curtains in your future home or the feeling of accomplishment when you hold your book in your hands.

  2. Feel It as If It’s Already Yours – It’s not just about seeing; it’s about experiencing. Feel the joy, the confidence, the peace that comes with having what you seek.

  3. Take Small, Aligned Actions – Dreams are wonderful, but they need movement. Whether it’s buying a single plate or writing the first line of your book, every step matters.

  4. Trust the Process – Some things take time, and that’s okay. Keep your vision alive, and let the world catch up to it.

Now I am not saying I always know how the details will look, sometimes, most times, I have the rough shapes of the "painting" of my future. The details sometime show themselves through time and the process it self of working towards the big shapes.

Looking back, I see a trail of visions turned real, a life built on intention and belief. And if you’re holding a dream in your heart, waiting to see it unfold, trust me—it’s already on its way.

If you’d like a guide to help you bring those visions to life, this self-coaching workbook is the perfect companion.
